Iran Issues Retaliatory Warning to U.S.
The warning was delivered by Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, who cited what he characterized as a pattern of escalatory rhetoric from U.S. President Donald Trump and senior American military officials.
"Our capable and powerful forces have long been in a state of 100% readiness and are ready and on the trigger," Zolfaghari declared.
He further cautioned that any "aggression and any action against the Islamic Republic of Iran" would prompt Iranian forces to "immediately and powerfully attack pre-determined targets."
The sharp military posture emerged just hours after Trump announced Tuesday that Washington had agreed to extend its ceasefire with Tehran — a decision made at the request of Pakistani officials. Despite the temporary halt in hostilities, Trump confirmed that a U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports would remain fully enforced.
Trump stated he had personally ordered the military to sustain the blockade and hold the ceasefire in place pending Tehran's submission of what he termed a "unified proposal."
The dual-track approach — extending a ceasefire while maintaining an economic chokehold — signals mounting pressure on Tehran to engage diplomatically, even as Iranian commanders signal they remain combat-ready.
