The explosion took place close to a bakery in the eastern part of the city. Authorities confirmed that no civilians were injured in the incident. Security forces have launched an investigation to establish the man’s identity, while no organization has so far claimed responsibility.
Syria has experienced multiple bomb attacks in recent months. On June 22, a suicide bombing at a Greek Orthodox church in Damascus left at least 25 people dead, with authorities attributing the attack to Islamic State.
In another incident in July, an explosion struck a military facility near Aleppo International Airport, highlighting ongoing security threats in the northern region.
