Death toll in Gaza surpasses 50,000 amid ongoing Israeli onslaught

(MENAFN) Over 41 Palestinian people lost their lives in Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, bringing the total death toll since October 2023 to 50,021, according to the Health Ministry's report on Sunday.

The ministry's remark indicated that the latest figures included two bodies recovered from the rubble in the past 24 hours.

Additionally, 61 more injured individuals were taken to hospitals, raising the total number of wounded to 113,274 amid the ongoing Israeli assault.

“Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads as rescuers are unable to reach them,” the statement noted.

Since Tuesday, at least 700 Palestinian individuals have been killed with more than 1,200 others wounded in an unexpected Israeli aerial assault on Gaza, breaking a ceasefire and inmate swap deal established in January.

In November 2023, the International Criminal Court released arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and ex-Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, accusing them of war crimes as well as offence against Palestinians in Gaza.
